slept in today. the only real reason that i woke up was because my mom called me. had to go to target to get oil for my car then spent some time in barnes and noble. i like going there for some alone time and to people watch. came home and just hung out in the apartment. jen, liz, and their friend alicia came back from dinner. we were hanging out when it started to thunder. the sky was soo cool looking. it's been storming ever since. summer thunder storms are my favorite.

got the internet issues settled today...well kind of. the wireless still isn't working on my computer, but the ethernet works. guess that's better then nothing. went for a walk tonight on the nature trial greenway thing behind the complex. it was so nice and relaxing. i think i'm going to make walking/running on it part of my daily routine. walking back i saw two frogs on the trail!

went out to eat at mellow mushroom in winston with jen, liz, and emily. when we were driving back the sunset and clouds were really pretty!

went to winston for the day to hang out with abby. spent most of the afternoon at this coffee shop called cafe roche. she was working on support stuff and i read and took advantage of the free wi-fi. me and jen set up our solar lights that my mom gave me. they look pretty cool. this place is slowly starting to look/feel like home i guess...

jen went to a show in greensboro so i was home by myself for the night. i got really antsy and bored. this is our pathetic little living room right now until we get money to get actual furniture...

made the trip back from indiana and got home around 11. :( i didn't want to leave. however when i got home jen was here and our cable was set up. right now i have a make shift set up until my dad brings down the rest of my furniture.

WILL & BECCA'S WEDDING!!!! oh my gosh. it was beautiful and i'm so glad that i got to be there for it AND see some very dear friends. it was so much fun! ah! wonderful!

spent the morning/afternoon with alicia and patrick! got to see alicia's hometown which was fun. then we picked up franny and amber from the airport and hung out in carmel so more. then alicia and patrick went to her uncle's birthday party and me, fran, and amber went out to eat with david to a cajun restaurant. it was so good and the owner was super nice. it was wonderful to hang out with project people again!

road trip to indiana with leah & rob! we got a little lost at first in virginia, but then we got on track. made it to indiana around 7:45. even though we got lost the drive through virginia was beautiful!

drove the whole day. stopped in virginia to visit with eliza. finally made it to my apartment, unloaded my car, and began the process of unpacking. it sucked. i also did not enjoy spending my first night in the apartment alone. it was scary.

one of my favorite things about summer is the fruit that comes with it like watermelon and strawberries!!! spent the day cleaning again. joy. i won't be home much longer though. i'm going back to high point on wednesday then leaving on thursday with leah for indiana! i'm excited for that trip and for the occassion of the trip!!!

went to lancaster with my mom to visit my grandfather. on the way down we stopped at a roadside stand for strawberries. yumm. :) spent the day in lancaster doing things for my grandfather and going out to lunch. stopped in reading on the way back to do some errands. it was nice to spend some time with my mom and to finally get out of the house for something other than small errands around town!

again. home is boring. like really boring. i like being with my family, but i dislike not having anything to do. i've started re-reading the 7th harry potter book to get ready for the movie. i'm such a nerd...

hmm. so home is pretty boring. nothing too exciting besides cleaning and doing chores around the house. i've been so bored that i even watched 'steel magnolias.'

started cleaning up my room and going through stuff and i found my polo's from shoreline. sigh. i miss chicago and project and it feels weird that i'm not having anxiety and stressing about going on project this summer. it just makes summer feel so dull compared to last summer. but i'm excited for the 22nd for a mini csp '09 reunion!

day one home. didn't do much. slept in because i was severly deprived of sleep from the craziness of the past week. did some grocery shopping for my mom and just hung around the house. one of my favorite things about being home is my cat. i missed her when i was at school.

may 9

spent the morning and most of the day moving the rest of my stuff over to my new apartment and cleaning up and checking out of my old apartment. it was so strange. i did not like it. after goodbyes and everything i finally set out for the seven hour trek home. i finally made it home around 9:45 which wasn't too bad. amy gave me my graduation present before i left. it's a red leather journal with my name stamped i guess in it. i love it! i can't wait to finish my other journal to start this one!

GRADUATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! um yeah. basically that's what happened all day. took a lot of pictures with people. gave a lot of hugs. went out to lunch with my family and liz because she drove up from florida to see me graduate. :) hung out with my family, went to dinner, then went out for one last time with whoever was still at school. it was a good time. i can't believe how fast the past four years have gone...

may 7

had the senior luncheon at 11:30. met up with zak and my mom. we sat with ashley and her mom. it was pretty nice. nido kinda spoke for a long time, but that's to be expected. after the luncheon went to practice which actually was just the administration lecturing us and telling us what to do. had baccalaureate later that night. the church was beautiful and i actually really enjoyed the speaker.

may 6

spent the day packing and loading up my car as well as doing errands on campus. my mom and brother got in around 3ish. met them at the hotel. my brother and bruce helped me move my bed to my new apartment. after dinner with my mom and zak we went over to my new apartment so i could sho my mom the place. when we were driving back the clouds and sun were really cool!

worked in the morning at 8 then met up with all the phi mu seniors for the senior class cook out. we got some pretty sweet hpu class of 2010 shades. hung out for a little and took care of some things on campus then got ready for the ambassador senior appreciation dinner. we went to p.f. changs. it was so good! i've never been there before. when i got back hung out with a bunch of people...including sarah ball and catie hammond.

may 4

tuesday was another packed day! had the phi mu senior cook out at cassidy's grandparents. went to ross/target/other various errands with leah, mofo, cassidy, and lauren. came back to campus for the phi mu senior slide show. relaxed for a little then went over to cody's for the 'summer birthday bash.' the theme was to dress up as your favorite drink. everyone's costumes were fun. met up with leah and mofo and a few other people and drove them to liberty...i'm going to miss crazy nights like this.

may 3

spent the day packing again and getting things together. made another trip over to the new apartment to unload and move stuff from campus. helped ashley edit her movie for interior design then came back to the room and we watched 'the last unicorn.' i used to love that movie when i was little, but watching it again made me realize that i had bad taste in films when i was younger. it's inspiration week for seniors so mofo and i went to the hall to get our happies. :)

went to church. lunch at the bakery. then spent the afternoon packing and trying to get my life organized and in order. went to the sga appreciation dinner at austin's. it was soo good and andrew ordered so much food for us! i got seafood. mmmm. it was a good way to end four long years of student government.

may 1

spent the day packing and took a load of my stuff over to my new apartment. went to the steakhouse with amy, kelly, and amy's sister christine. after that me, kelly, and mcgee went over to bruce and becky's for campfire night. i love camp/bonfires. it was relaxing and fun to just sit around, smell the fire, and roast marshmallows. :)

april 30

woke up and worked on my digital photo portfolio. had lunch with marie then went back to present my portfolio. for working on in last minute i was pretty happy with how it turned out. met up with jen and we went to pay our first month of rent and pick up our keys!!! ahh!!! we measured the windows and some of the walls for furniture and everything and decided on who gets what room. it's crazy that this is all actually happening. that night went to bruce and becky's with ashley for a movie night! we watched 'law abiding citizen.' so good. i strongly recommend it.

april 29

crazy crazy crazy thursday. thought i had to be at budget defenses at 9:30 am but found out that i didn't actually have to be there. so i stayed until 12 and went to get lunch at liberty with everyone. had piano juries at 3:55 then met up with catie hammond to take pictures of her for my photo portfolio. took pictures of her with buddah then balls got the brilliant idea to climb on the statue. after that went to the phonathon end of the year party for a little then had to go to the chapel to play in the senior recital. played a duet with kb and watched everyone else sing. busy day.

april 28

last day of classes!!! went to digital photo, senior sem, and french cinema for the last time everrr! high point has this tradition that the last day of class is panther palooza/spring concert. the concert this year was corey smith? yeah. no idea who he is...i went to ride the ferris wheel. went to the steakhouse for dinner with c.hamm, balls, and mcgee then hung out at dave rad's until the concert! the ferris wheel was one of the best ferris wheel rides ever! it was a good way to end the last day of classes.

um. so tuesday was kind of crazy. went to sign the lease to my apartment which felt like i was signing my life away...then i came back to campus and met with abby for the last time. :( she helped me figure out what to say at cru. spoke at cru that night about the past four years and what God has done and any advice i had. naturally my main pointer was to go on a summer project. ;) um. so this picture is of a youtube video that david sent me? i'm pretty sure that it was late at night and i realized that i hadn't taken a picture for the day yet...and well...this is what i got...

last week of classes! i thought that my senior sem paper was due today but when i got to class i found out that the deadline was extended until 12:30 on tuesday, which was kind of a relief because it meant that i had more time to edit and add to it. i was taking pictures of sarah ball for my final digital photo portfolio and walking back to my room and saw the crazy sky over the chapel. luckily i had my camera with me and got a picture of it! then when i was getting in my car to go to small group i saw a rainbow. what luck!

april 25

went to church at the journey then came back and worked on my senior sem paper all afternoon. took a study break for food and the petal points concert (which was amazing!) and then got back to paper writing.

april 24

senior pass down day! all of the phi mu seniors passed down phi mu and other fun stuff to the younger sisters. it was so weird to be passing down my stuff, it seems like just yesterday i was at my first pass down imagining what it would be like to be a senior...
so for catie hammond's birthday her parents rented a 'short party bus' to take us to greensboro. it was a lot of fun hanging out with everyone! it was me, catie, mcgee, sam, kane, leah, rob, courtney, vondy, and catie's friend willie. her parents came on the bus too. they're crazy!

april 23

carnation and toccatatones concert! went to the toccatatones end of year concert but had to leave at intermission for carnation ball. it was sad that it was my last carnation, but it was so much fun!

**also sorry that i haven't posted in forever and a year! my computer's been broken and at i.t. and i just got it back yesterday! but i've taken pictures each day!!! :)

april 22

the communication department held a luncheon for all of the graduating seniors. not everyone came. in fact, there were only about 10 seniors there, but it was nice to hang out with our professors and just talk about the past four years. we all also got a card signed by our advisors and a $25 gift card to itunes, which i was really surprised by. it's crazy to think that graduation is only two weeks away! had my last ever sga meeting and was officially sworn out of office. after that went to meet about acropolis again which was...interesting. we'll see how that goes...

april 21

wednesday was honors day so we didn't have class. at the student life honors phi mu won sorority of the year which was really exciting! i'm really proud of all my sister's and just seeing how involved we all are and how diverse our chapter is. it makes me happy. later that night was cabaret where they did selections from the '25th annual putnam county spelling bee.' everyone did just a good job! it was so funny.

april 20

yoga class was cancelled so i didn't have any classes all day. i spent some time with abby. we went off campus to a coffee shop and just sat and talked which was really good because i needed it. she helped me feel a little better about things going on in my life, which is always good. tuesday night was our sisterhood retreat and we were supposed to go to bruce and becky's for a bonfire and s'mores, but it was raining so we did an ice cream party in the lounge instead. it was a lot of fun to hang out with everyone. we all put our hand prints on a canvas to hang in the lounge. after that i went to cru and had a phone date with jess!!!! it was so good talking to her. i miss her and the other roomies a whole lot.

catie hammond's birthday!!!! she turned the big 21! before that though i still felt sick so i went to the doctor and got real medicine to make me better. because i was feeling sick i didn't go to small group or out to celebrate catie's birthday, but she came over when she got back to get her birthday presents from me and balls. she got an owl locket and dinosaur cookie cutters. she really turned five and not twenty-one...haha.

april 18

so i'd been sick since tuesday and unable to really eat anything without wanting to die. after bruce's ordination i came back and just relaxed hoping to feel better. i decided to go to walmart and get some medicine, soup, and gatorade. the basic essentials when you're sick.

spent the day with eliza! we went to the friendly center and did some shopping. there were really good sales and i own zero dress clothes for my job in june, so i bought some things for work. sarah ball came back from app state and we went to burlington to go to the hobby lobby there to get vases for the carnation center pieces. we found a really nice shopping center that had a sephora! i had a gift card so i bought some nail polish. we grabbed dinner then headed back to high point. it was a fun day.

friday eliza came! leah, ashley, eliza, and i went out to eat for dinner at outback. then i had to usher for 'the seagull' so eliza and i went to the theater. the show was interesting... it was really long and at some points really slow, but it was fun to spend time with eliza.

nothing too exciting on thursday. had sga. andrew swore out as president and eric swore in. i finished reading 'the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe' and started reading 'east of eden.'

presented my senior sem! i think it went really well. i'm just relieved that it's all over. wednesday night we had a sisterhood movie night and we watched 'the proposal.' when we were there we got our jdrf shirts for the walk on the 24.

day before i present my senior sem! spent most of the day working on it and practicing. it was a nice day so me, balls, and sarah mcgee did homework on the balcony of the uc study lounge. at 7 phi mu hosted a comedy show to raise money for cmn. after that i practiced my presentation...

april 12

class all day. it's my last full week of classes as an undergrad student! crazy! after classes i took a nap, then came back up to the balcony at the uc study lounge with catie hammond. worked a litttle more on my senior sem presentation then took a break for dinner and to go to small group. i haven't been to small group for the past few weeks because of phonathon, so it was nice to be able to go again. after small group i came back up to the uc study lounge balcony with matti and balls. it's nice to have a place to do homework and enjoy the weather. i think this is my new favorite place to study and do homework. too bad that i just discovered it now that i'm almost done. i have most of my presentation done, i just have to add like two more slides and practice! i'm so ready to be done with this! this picture is the view of campus from the balcony. as much as i can complain about high point, i can't deny that the campus is beautiful...

april 11

went to church then came back and had lunch with balls. after lunch i came to the balcony in the uc study lounge to work on some homework and enjoy the weather at the same time. after awhile catie hammond came and joined me. later that night we had our formal chapter meeting. my last one ever! it was a looooong meeting and it was so hot in the room that it made me kind of glad that it was my last one. i got to keep my quaterfoil name tag since i'm graduating!

april 10

worked open house in the morning from 7-3:15. i was bummed that i had to work because a group of people from church were going to the zoo and i would have much rather have done that, but it was a nice day, so i was kind of okay with working. after work i took a nap then went to the murder mystery dinner at the steak house with kelly, taryn, kb, and amelia. we didn't guess the right person, but it was still kinda fun. then sarah ball and i went on an adventure around town because i still needed one more shot of an 'interesting sky' for photography. i wanted to get a cool shot of the sunset from the top of one of the buildings on campus, but the way that they're all built the back is too the sunset. so we got in my car and drove around following the sunset till we found something that was kind of cool. it's not exactly what i had in mind, but it'll have to do since my portfolio is due on wednesday. came back to campus and said hi to people that were at relay for life then watched the movie for french cinema, 'the brotherhood of the wolf.' i would not reccommend it. it was 2.5 hours long and was weird. the french have a weird sense of entertainment when it comes to films...
