major major snow today. campus is shut down. i still had to give a tour thought. :( i've been wearing my rain boots all day and my socks were getting wet which confused me until i discovered this big hole in my left boot. fail.

january 29

no classes. got hit by a major snow storm. went to the piano concert for ids credit, which was actually pretty cool. they played a duet that i played with kb last spring. then went to bingo and wanted to win jay-z tickets and was 3 spots away in black out. :(

this is my academic advisor, judy isaksen. she is such a genuine person and is one of the best professors that i've had while being here at high point.

anyways, for digital photography i had to take pictures of someone who was "older." believe me, judy does not act old and i don't think of her as old, but she's the oldest person that i know that i'd feel comfortable to ask to photograph. so we had a little photo shoot today. i was learning how to balance natural light. i think it went pretty well.

i also dropped my field production class today and added ids. the class was just stressing me out and wasn't worth it.

note on yesterday's post: i may be tweaking my senior sem topic. which means more research. fun.

i lacked serious motivation to go to class and do school work today. i foresee my senioritis being a huge problem, especially since it's only the beginning of the semester. hopefully it'll get better. went to downtown greensboro with ashley to take some shots for digital photography. we had to take shots that showed perspective depth. i didn't really enjoy this assignment...

mmm. went to the steakhouse tonight for the first time. it was so so so good. it was fun. i went with emily, erin, tins, sydney, and shannon. went to small group. had a good time there. i got so much mail today too! jess sent me a birthday package which included a michigan state shirt, quote magnet and wonderful card. it made my day. i miss her and the 205 roomies a lot.

sooo this is a picture of what kelly made for me for my birthday! they're wooden blocks and she painted them to look like the chicago theater marquee. i love them. today i just relaxed and went to meetings. the toccatones called me during their rehearsal and sang happy birthday to me which made my day! :)

my birthday! i decided to upload 2 photos. the first one is of the hoagie i got at mellow mushroom, which was amazing! good food, good friends, and good times. the second one is of my birthday cake that my mom got for me! it's my last one as a college student. :( my birthday was a good day. i have amazing friends.

sooo my senior seminar is already kicking my butt and it's only the second week of school. awesome. i also had sga. the senate needs to re-learn roberts rules.

today was kind of stressful. i started doing research for my senior seminar and realized that it's not going to be as easy as i had anticipated. it's actually going to be quite difficult. not that that's a bad thing, it was just unexpected. i also started thinking about post-graduation and started to get a little over whelmed. i had a meeting for ambassador tonight. nothing too exciting. i also got to catch up with my little alyssa which was good. i'm ready for the weekend...

back to class today. nothing too exciting. i did take zumba class, which was tons of fun! i took it with courtney, sydney, jessie, and tins and i don't know that i've laughed that hard in awhile. it was good times. went to cru and then ate at the point. like i said, nothing too exciting...

january 18

didn't have classes today because it was mlk jr day. slept in and attempted to get some work done but only managed to do laundry. i got distracted because my one roommate has all of the episodes of weeds on dvd and i started to watch that instead of doing my homework. i have to think of 2 ideas for a 2 minute film with no dialogue kind of like this one. unfortunately i'm running low on creative juices tonight. tonight was this semester's first small group. i'm excited. we're going to study philippians and colossians. good stuff.

BID DAY!!!! oh my gosh. it took forever for all of the girls to get their bids, but they finally did and this is a picture of our 2010 phi class! aren't they beautiful? i'm so excited to get to know all of these girls (there's about 48 of them btw). after getting their bids and parading and all of that stuff they got a break to get ready for our vegas themed dance party. i think all of the girls had a fun time.

okay. so this is caitlin o'handley. and i love her. she is an amazing and wonderful person. this picture was taken after our final pref party, which to say the least, was a mild disaster. our decorations and curtains were falling down, everyone was stressed out and tired and we still had to talk to potential girls. somehow we pulled it off. anyways afterwards we were taking down the decorations and cleaning up and caitlin started wearing the decorations and called herself the phi mu fairy. it made me smile.

i failed at taking a picture this day. :( it was skit night of recruitment and it was stressful. that is all.

so i kind of failed at posting the pictures, but i have been taking them. (okay, all except for one day. this week's been a little crazy).

this is a picture of all of my sisters after our second night of recruitment, philanthropy round 2. we were waiting for our advisors to get there to vote and all of that fun stuff. while we were waiting someone pulled up this video on youtube. it was fun.

so i failed at posting my picture last night, but i did remember to take one so that still counts, right? haha. anyways. last night was the first night of recruitment, philanthropy round 1. i think it went pretty well! we won't find out our numbers until tonight, but i'm feeling pretty good about it. last night when everything was finally over and i got to come back to my apartment i was greeted with a little party going on. it was fun to hang out with some people. then at some point abe wandered into the apartment, first passed out on my bedroom floor, then was drug to sarah ball's floor where he slept on a text book. crazy kid.

today was the first day of classes. i only have 2 on tues/thurs which is nice. tonight we also had like a seven hour recruitment workshop. it was rough. after the workshop i came back to make dinner and burned my peas. i didn't even know it was possible to burn canned peas...guess what, it is.

hahahaha. so my new roommate, sarah ball's friend tim is here for the week. they were all in my room, tim saw my silly string and he attacked catie hammond. it made my night. classes start tomorrow. last semester of my under grad career!!!

went to the journey this morning and then for lunch with mofo, ashley, bruce, and becky. it was good times. ashley gave me my christmas present today. a tea kettle! :) it's pretty and i love it!

drove all day today with liz back to school. stopped in martinsville to have lunch with eliza! i'm not ready to start school again...

went to visit my grandfather today with my mom and zak. we went for luch at cracker barrel, his favorite. came home and went for dinner with megan at the lazy dog cafe. it was good to see her. i was kind of sad that it was the first time all break, but our schedules never really worked out. came back from that, did laundry and packed up for school. hopefully i'll be on the road to nc tomorrow by 6 am!

celebrated mom's birthday today! didn't put all 56 candles on..it would have looked like a bonfire. :)

nothing too exciting today. went to the eye doctor. found out my prescription is the same, which was a relief because i always have this feeling that my eye sight is slowly failing me.

today's picture is of my devotional. i started a new one with the start of the new year. i really like it so far. right now i'm reading genesis 1-2:3. the way that the devotional is structured, i read the same passage everyday for a week and then read whatever is in the devotional. it's good. i like it. i go back to school in three days. hopefully i'll remember/have enough time to keep up with this!

spent the day with liz. woke up & went for breakfast then went to reading to do some shopping. i got new bedroom slippers on sale! they're nice and warm.

we ate a meli's diner in greek town this morning before we had to say our good-byes. emily and i shared this AMAZING plate of pancakes. seriously, best pancakes i've ever had.

went to millennium park and navy pier today. it's so good to be back in chicago. i'm not ready to leave tomorrow. :(

so i'm attempting to do a project 365 again. hopefully i'll be more disciplined and follow through with it for a year. i think it'll be good for me because this upcoming year there are going to be a lot of

...haha. anyways. this year there are going to be a lot of changes in my life. graduation, job or interning with cru. entering the "real world." i thought it would be fun to try to document my life through a photo a day. :)

i'm in chicago with some of my summer project people. :) last night we went to the mag mile. the pictures is of the water tower which which was the only source of water during the great chicago fire. i love this city and i love these people with my whole heart.
