did more shooting for photography. my professor gave us a lot of things to shoot over break, and one of them was of a "wicked tree" or a cool sky. this was in my back yard. the sky isn't all that amazing, but i really liked the contrast of the trees with the blueness of the sky and the sun peeking out between the trees. we'll see if cherl (my professor) likes it...

march 9

yay new hair! i was tired of dealing with my long straight hair, but i didn't want to get a haircut, so i got a body wave! it's so much easier to deal with and take care of, even though the chemicals smelled really really bad and made my scalp burn a little bit.

had to go to the dentist and had one of the most bitter and cynical dental hygienists on the face of the planet who took her frustration out on my mouth. my gums suffered quite a bit, but her anger made me feel sorry for her, especially since it was a 9:30 am appointment and she was already in such a bad mood. went back out to the animals with my dad to try to get some shots for my photography class. i thought this one was cute.

march 7

the 82nd annual academy awards were tonight. i only got to see about 3/4 of them because i had to get zak from work at 9. i love watching things like this, they've always interested me, and tonight's awards were history making. one of the nominee's for 'best director' was african american and the other was a woman. if either would have one they would have been the first in film history to win for that demographic. kathryn bigelow, who directed 'the hurt locker' won, which is amazing. the first woman director to ever win an oscar in film history. it's so encouraging to witness something like that. to see that women are progressing in what is a mainly male-dominated field, and that society is growing to see that it's okay to recognize women for their accomplishments. if lee daniels would have won, who directed 'precious: based on the novel push by sapphire' would have won i would have thought the same thing and it would have been equally encouraging. after watching the oscars i have a new dream, to write an academy award winning screenplay...pretty lofty dream, huh?

march 6

honestly didn't do anything too exciting. slept in which was nice and spent the day watching movies. went out with my mom to run some errands and go grocery shopping which was....interesting. my mom stresses me out, especially with talk of graduation and my future, but i guess that's what mother's are supposed to do. i took a picture of water because i probably drank about 8 bottles of water today. sadly, that was the most interesting thing about my day.

march 5

BABY GOATS!!!!! so after spending the night at balls we went to the christiana mall to meet my dad. made a pit stop with my dad at wegmans for some lunch, then finally made it home! my dad went out to the animals to feed then called to tell me that daphne (one of the goats) had her babies! so he came back and picked me up and we went to play with the babies! it was exciting because i always miss the babies right when they're born. they're always born either right after i leave or a month before i come home, so it was cool to be able to see them as newborns!

march 4

looong day of travelling! i went home with sarah ball to delaware but we didn't get to leave till 2 pm because she had two tests. my yoga class was cancelled so i spent the day packing and finishing cleaning. the drive wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, it was nice to have a change of scenery instead of the same old thing that i'm used to on 81. i didn't get sleepy either which usually happens on long car rides.

march 3

had my last day of classes today before break! this time tomorrow i'll be on the road with balls!!!! had my piano lesson today which was a lot of fun. marcia's letting me play a variety of pieces instead of just classical stuff which i enjoy a whole lot. went to the steakhouse tonight with leah, kb, mofo, balls, and kelly stambaugh. it's always so good...and it was fun to hang out with all of them. it's hard for all of us to get together. we're always so busy! in the process of packing and cleaning. getting ready for patrick & alicia's visit!!!! ahhhh! i'm SO excited!!!! :)

march 2

kelly's 21st birthday!!!! didn't go to zumba this morning because i think i'm getting sick. i did go to yoga though! met with abby which is always good. it snowed like crazy today, but none of it really stuck...at least not on the roads. kelly had discipline committee but after that she and amy came over and we sang to her. we were going to go to giannos for dinner, but her meeting went to late, so i think we're going to go when we get back from break. watched lost. yep. that's it. i lead such an exciting life...

march 1

ahhh! i can't believe it's march already! on thursday i head home for spring break. my senior year is almost over. baaah! had class today and a meeting for phonathon. after that went to small group, which was really good. there are some pretty awesome people in my small group. :) came back and went to the store with balls to get stuff to make cupcakes for kelly. tomorrow's her 21st birthday! i'm so thankful she was born and that God put her in my life! she's amazing!!!
